Higher education admission procedure

To apply for admission to a Hungarian higher education institution, you must submit an application for admission under the central admission procedure.

Kulcsszavak: further education, course, degree, certificate, online application, BA, BSc, MA, MSc, admission, higher education

Applications must be submitted electronically through the e-admission (E-felvételi) service available on the www.felvi.hu website upon registration.

Steps of the application procedure:

  1. Registration on the www.felvi.hu website.
  2. Upon successful registration, following the first login to the e-admission platform, a security code will be sent to the email address provided during registration. You must enter that code at each login to the e-admission platform. Login to the system, therefore, consists of two steps: first, you must log in to the www.felvi.hu website by entering the user name and password provided during registration, then you must log in to the e-admission system under the relevant menu item by entering the security code sent by the system to your registered email address.
  3. On the e-admission platform, you must provide all the basic and additional data that are required for the application for admission. The basic data that are mandatory for a valid application include personal data and at least one selected higher education programme. Furthermore, other results needed for score calculation may be provided.
  4. Supporting documents for results already obtained may be uploaded electronically.
  5. An additional procedural fee must be paid if applicable (for detailed information, see the payment obligation section).
  6. As a last step, the application for admission (application) must be verified in one of the two following ways:

The application will only be valid upon successful verification.

A maximum of 6 higher education programmes can be selected in the application for admission.

For the applicable deadlines, please refer to the deadlines section.

Per year, you can submit an application in three types of admission procedure:

If you fail to submit your application for admission by the deadline specified in the deadlines section, you can no longer submit the application under the admission procedure concerned and the application is aborted.

Documents and requests for modification submitted after the expiry of the general deadline for submitting missing documents and modifications cannot be accepted and processed.

If you have failed to provide a document required for the assessment of the application for admission when submitting your application, the authority acting in your application for admission will invite you to submit the missing documents to support your application and will also specify the deadline for the submission thereof. Should you fail to submit the missing documents by the specified deadline, the admission procedure will be aborted and the documents concerned cannot be submitted subsequently (i.e. the deadline is time-barred).

If the applicant does not agree with the official decision on the admission results, they are entitled to bring a legal action against the Educational Authority within 15 days from the notification of the decision by citing an infringement.
